About me
I am an early career researcher in biomedical sciences, specialising in molecular biology. I completed my PhD at Griffith University in 2019 on colon cancer and stem cells, and I'm currently a Lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland. My current research focuses on the biocompatibility of novel medical devices as part of the UniSQ SIMPLE Hub. In 2021, I led a group of Biomed Sciences lectures to published our first Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook, “Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology,” which was showcased at the 2021 Open Access Week. I presented our findings on the impact of this textbook on student satisfaction and engagement at the 2022 ASILITE conference.
Currently, the team and I are in the final stages of producing a six-book series in Biosciences for health professionals and I'm assisting with the publication of another OER textbook, and actively advocating the sharing of OER to the Darling Downs community.
I hope to continue significantly contributing to both biomedical research and educational resources.
