About me
Shira Segal is the Collaborations and Engagement Manager at MIT OpenCourseWare. In this position, she cultivates and facilitates relationships with members of the open education ecosystem by leveraging resources from MIT OpenCourseWare to enhance teaching and learning. Her previous experiences in university teaching, curriculum and program design, academic advisement, and alumni and donor relations influences her approach to collaborations and open education. Prior to MIT, she was a faculty member in the Department of Art and Art History at the University at Albany, SUNY where she directed the Film Studies program. She holds a Ph.D. in Film and Media Studies from Indiana University and an M.A. in Cultural Memory from the University of London, and is invested in the arts and education.
